March 10, 2017
It’s almost Prom Time! Unfortunately for some teens, the expense of this special social event could make attending prom out of reach. UthMpact is proud to present the 5th year of Project Prom to provide formal wear and accessories to deserving high school students in our community and educate youth and parents about the risky behaviors that can occur during prom and graduation time.
on Friday evening, March 10, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church in Lakeland, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. Parents are invited to this fun evening to enjoy a delicious meal by Carrabba’s Italian Grill, followed by an informative UthMpact presentation, and an exciting Project Prom Fashion Show featuring UthMpact students modeling the latest in formal attire. Tickets are available now at: http://evite.me/Gq65A3Ka6N for $30 per person or $50 per couple. Donations to support the county-wide Project Prom initiative area also welcome. Proceeds will help support UthMpact’s Project Prom and raise funds needed to bring leadership programs to additional students in the future.
The local community may support the Project Prom effort by donating gently used dresses, shoes, purses, jewelry, men’s suits, tand accessories. Donations may be dropped off at the InnerAct Alliance office, 621 South Florida Avenue in Lakeland, weekdays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
Student Shopping Days to distribute prom formal wear to those in need will take place on the following Saturdays from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm: February 18, March 4, March 18, April 1 and April 15 at our store located at 1113-B South Florida Avenue in Lakeland. High school students with a Polk County School ID can sign a Project Prom Pledge to celebrate drug-free and receive their formal wear for FREE!
