Congratulations to High School Students Leaders of the 2013-2014 UthMpact Leadership Class III!


On April 2, 2014, UthMpact will hold its graduation for the Third Class of High School Student Leaders who have participated in and successfully completed the 2013-2014 UthMpact Leadership Program. The ceremony will be held at 6:30 pm at the Jim Miles Professional Development Center in Lakeland.

Congratulations to UthMpact Leaders: Sania Ali, Isabella Basalone, Elizabeth (Marla) Broom, Hank Campbell, Tiffany Chantharasinh, Emi Davis, Kevon Edmondson, Mackenzie Eliasen, Katy Ferguson, Rami Harb, Kobe Jones, Marli McKown, Sidney Nelson, Shefali Patel, Jerry (Trey) Porter, Joshua Ragasa, Rene Respicio, Rachel Ringley, Michaela Sawyer, Kavi Saxena, Julia Schindler, Anthony Seay Jr., Neel Shah, Eugene Smith, William Sutton, Katie Thielen, Tierra Thomas, Ashlyne Wells, Michael Wiggs, Taylor Williams, Noelle Woods, Kayli White, and Alexandria Wilson.

The UthMpact Leadership Program, spearheaded by InnerAct Alliance, StandUP Polk Coalition, UthMpact Coalition, and key business partners, is designed to help teens develop crucial leadership skills. Student participants were nominated by high school principals and community members. Teens had the unique opportunity to travel throughout the county, meet with community leaders, and experience the inner workings of local government, healthcare, education, and law enforcement.  Themes for UthMpact program dates included: Law Enforcement Leadership Day, Volunteer and Service Leadership Day, Health and Wellness Day, Education Leadership Day, Government Leadership Day, and Business Day.  Participants enjoyed behind the scenes facility tours and took part in hands-on learning activities.
