Know the Warning Signs of Bullying & Talk with Your Kids

Talking about bullying can be difficult for everyone, but it is important to start a conversations with your child before bullying happens or if you are concerned that it may be happening.👪

Be aware of warning signs that may indicate that someone is being affected by bullying - either being bullied or bullying others. Parents, teachers, and caregivers should look for changes in the child, however not all children will exhibit warning signs.

Signs can also point to other issues or problems, such as depression or substance use. Statistics show that children who are bullied are more likely to experience mental health issues and decreased academic achievement.

Many times, children who are bullied or are bullying others may not know how to ask for help so it's crucial for adults to take the lead in talking to their children and take steps to intervene with any bullying their child may be experiencing at school, at home, or in the community.
