Thursday Thoughts: What Exactly Is Pi Day?

You don't have to love math to like Pi Day, celebrated today March 14th (3/14) around the world. Pi (the Greek letter "π") is a math symbol that represents a constant. It is the distance around a perfect circle - or the circumference of a circle to its diameter - which is approximately 3.14159.

Math enthusiasts like to celebrate this day by reciting the infinite digits of Pi, talking about math, and eating pie. In addition to Pi Day, March 14th is also Albert Einstein's birthday.

Most of us can probably relate best to eating pie instead of calculating it 😉
