The UthMpact
Leadership Program, spearheaded by InnerAct Alliance, StandUP Polk Coalition,
UthMpact Coalition, and key business partners, is designed to help teens
develop crucial leadership skills. Student participants were nominated by high
school principals and community members. Teens had the unique opportunity to
travel throughout the county, meet with community leaders, and experience the
inner workings of local government, healthcare, education, and law
enforcement. Themes for UthMpact program dates included: Law Enforcement Leadership
Day, Volunteer and Service Leadership Day, Health and Wellness Day, Education
Leadership Day, Government Leadership Day, and Business Day. Participants enjoyed behind the scenes
facility tours and took part in hands-on learning activities.
